Discipleship

Discipleship is a life long relationship with Jesus that changes us in His image

The process begins when we accept and confess Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

 

Romans 10:9-10 (New Living Translation)

“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” 

 

We believe discipleship is a combination of learning from the Holy Word of God, guidance through the Holy Spirit, and experiencing the things of God in our life.

 

We believe that discipleship is something best done in christian community where we can help each other grow and model the example of Jesus Christ in our life. 

 

At FWC we are implementing a program called ROOTED as the starting off place for your discipleship walk. This is a small group discipleship experience that can kickoff or rekindle your walk with Jesus. New or long time disciples can find powerful experiences with others who are seeking to develop their relationship with Jesus. The program will be done a couple of times a year in as many groups as we need. Please talk with the pastor if you are interested in joining one of these ROOTED experiences.

 

The growth for your discipleship after the Rooted experience is up to you. Your rooted group may decide to continue together as a new small group mentoring one another in your christian walk. The church also has a number of group offerings that can allow you to be both involved and growing in your faith. Wednesday Bible study or Sunday school are a couple of examples of the ongoing opportunities. The church also offers other periodic bible studies and educational experiences.
